I Love Typhoon

Here is a a lovely picture of me and Typhoon at my parent's home in San Diego. He is wearing my Christmas present for him which is a ringer tee from American Appareal Ty is so indie j/k. But he is kinda getting old which is sad and he has cancer in his mouth, but we hope he hangs in there a little longer. Also my clev in this pic is a little o.c. sorry bout that.

You Know We're Cool

So this it is fun to have off during the week cause I get to watch daytime T.V. today I watched TRL for the first time in like 5 years and saw the premeire of the new Gwen Stefani video for "Cool". I actually really like this song and am glad that "Hollaback Girl" will finally disappear. The video is really beautiful and is directed by British director Sophie Mueller who has worked with Blur and Bjork previously. The song is cheesy and synthy but I like it, the video reminds me of Madonna's Like a Virgin. It is filmed on the Italian Rivera and shows both brown and blonde haired Gwen decked out in beautiful designer dresses and cute vintage looks.

Also recently on T.V. I got to watch Morgan Spurlock's "30 Days" which like "Supersize Me" will show someone living another life for 30 days. The one I saw was this dude from West Virginia who was pretty conservative and Christian living as a Muslim. It is a great show that I definitly reccommend. Next week military anti gay conservative lives in the Castro here in SF with a gay guy for 30 days, spicy.

Listen:
Ok now on to music shows this weekend. If I didnt have to work too early on Saturday I would definitely check out Annie at Mighty with The Lovemakers and Every Move A Picture. Kylie esque euro pop for the indie kids, Annie hails from Norway and her new cd Anniemal is out now. I just like to say Anniemal, Katiemal does not have quite the same ring.

Also brit band Maximo Park plays Popscene tonight. Fans of Franz Ferdinand and other indie new new wavers should check em out.

Fun Stuff In S.F. This Week

Movie to see this week:

David LaChapelle's "Rize". From the music video director best known for getting Xtina Dirrty and most recently on film creating an absurdly over the top video for The Dandy Warhols in "Dig!". LaChapelle takes on a documentary about clown dancing and krunk dancing in the inner city. Although I am scared of clowns, from what I have seen in the previews it looks awesome. Visit the official site for preview. Playing at Embarcadero 12:10 PM, 2:20, 4:30, 7:20, 9:30

Also this Friday July 1st and 2nd, kick off Midnight Mass at the Bridge with the Russ Meyer classic "Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" with special guest Tura Santana. As this movie poster is prominantly featured in me and Joe's bedroom you best believe we will be hitting this up. Click here for full list of Midnight Mass movies.

Reality Bites huh Janeane?

That's right in case you haven't heard Janeane Garafalo is starring in a Oxygen made for TV movie. My god if you would have told me this in middle school, while explaining what Oxygen is cause I don't think it was invented yet, I would have died. Oh yes and it costars Swoosie Kurtz. What the hell is she thinking? I guess Air America really isnt paying the bills. Nadine in Dateland

In other news, although it is entirely possible I may have dated a few gay guys back in the day I certainly did not make a cool 5 mil off that disaster. Here are some actual questions from a Sceintology survery given to first time members. At work I suggested it be a guideline for interviewing new hires, as of yet no one has responded to my email but I will keep you posted.

He May be Not Guilty But Triumph Speaks to the Fans

Triumph Speaks to the Jackson Fans

I liked Prince Triumph II.

Why I am glad I did not get a tattoo in HS when I turned 18, Or what I learned from the Haight St.Fair

So Sunday was a wonderful day known throughout SF as the Haight St. Fair. This involved lots of drinking out of brown bags and stubbling up and down Haight St. On my journey I came to realize, how right Momma Motz can be sometimes. If you are a girl you should never get a tattoo on your lower back when you turn 18 ever. I saw so much proof of the awful phenom at the HSF that I found a need to create a Top 5.

Top Five Worst Tattoos for Girls to have on their Lower Backs, which they prob got when they were in High School:
1. Butterfly
2.Suns, Moons, or a combo of the two
3.Asian Characters
4.Fairies
5.Ying Yang Sign
Some things that we thought were totally cool circa '97 just don't quite stand the test of time.

I Got A New Camera

It is the HP R607 designed by Gwen Stefani. I love it can't wait to take some new pics and post them up here. I hope to take lots of live shots at shows to do concert reviews. God I sound like a thirteen year old girl. Will be going to SD on Wednesday. Hope to post some CD reviews and Joe has a great show review of the Ledge.

I Know Everybody Has a Blog.....

Ok I know I know everyone has a stupid blog but I decided to start one too. Expect loads of music reviews, sf concert reviews, guest reviewers, pop culture and celeb junk, and whatever the hell else I decide I would like to write about. Let's start this shit out with a cool picture:

David Hasselhoff loves puppies.
