Please Hammer Don't Hurt Him

Check out this story on SFist. I hear a little birdy named Ktocity tipped them off to the hilarious CL post. So yeah my bet is that the auditions were held in the tiny room in the back that has the video and pinball machines, because it has a more club like vibe. For reals people let's here some dets SFist is giving you free Muni tix for god's sake. And here I thought the last time I would think of MC Hammer was when I put the Adam's Family Rap on my awesome Halloween mix CD. What? That song is hilarious.

Birdmonster 11/28 Cafe Du Nord

Be there or be a total square. I am thankfully recovered from my awful bout of food poisoning. Last weekend Joe and my apartment was pretty much a reenactment of the detox scene in Trainspotting. NAR NAR awfulness to say the least. Nothing says love like roostering for two days straight and throwing up in the bathtub.

GO See Artic Monkeys at Popscene 11/19

I promise you won't be disappointed. There are no advance tix to this show it is at 330 Rich for Leisure's one year anniversary. Doors at 9pm.

So LA was a blast thanks to Marisa, Rebecca, Jenny, Todd, Chad, and my brother for showing me a great time. Me and Marisa saw James Iha from the Smashing Pumpkins spin on Sat night at Vanguard. We got too trashed on expensive drinks, some doucebag broke my fav necklace while trying to dance with me, and James Iha totally blew us off, oh yeah and I lost my id and atm card. But it was actually really fun.

Also I saw Urge Overkill acoustic at the Viper Room which was pretty cool.

Enough music talk, seriously let's talk H&M, do you realize the craziness that will ensue at the opening on Saturday, I here people are driving up from L.A. I am working Sat but you best believe I will be there Sunday, hoping to score some left over stuff preferable the Stella McCarthy line.

I Spent All Night Making the Soundtrack to Your Day

I will be voting this evening and so should you polls open until 8pm. Here is a pretty good summary of the propositions. Basically I am voting just to vote no on Prop 73 which if you are Pro Choice or think teenagers should have control over their own bodies you should vote no too.

I will be in LA this weekend if anyone knows of anything cool going on. I may go see The Sounds on Saturday and hit up the Dim Mak afterparty at The Vanguard where James Iha is djing. Looking forward to hanging out with Marisa and Rebecca and my brother and eating at Canter's and Pink's.

I totally can not get The Artic Monkeys "I Bet you Look Good on the Dancefloor" and The Tah Dahs "Mix Tape= Love" out of my head. The Artic Monkeys will be playing Nov. 19th at Popscene for the 1 year anniversary of Leisure so go and get your Brit Pop on.

You can download The Tah Dahs song from Stereogum. So cheesey its awesome plus I am such a sucker for guys making mix tapes and Say Anything. Stream Artic Monkeys songs here on their myspace and then go buy them on itunes. "Bigger Boys and Stolen Sweethearts" is also a great track.

And If the Elevator Tries To Bring Us Down... Oh No Let's Go!!!!!!!!

From Peaches Christ:

the battle is about to begin...SING-ALONG PURPLE RAIN vs. SING ALONG TRUTH OR DARE

Local impresario and drag superstar Peaches Christ returns to Landmark’s Bridge Theatre this fall for two weeks of sing-along insanity. Peaches Christ’s Midnight Mass proudly presents its first-ever Battle of the Sing-Alongs featuring Sing-Along Purple Rain versus Sing-Along Truth or Dare. Both wildly popular sing-along events have drawn sell-out crowds in SF, inspiring Peaches to create this two-week encore. SING-ALONG PURPLE RAIN Friday, November 4th Saturday, November 5th Bridge Theatre, 3010 Geary (3 blocks west of Masonic) Show at Midnight $10 online tickets / info: www.peacheschrist.com

The Purple Rain pre-show features Peaches’ Prince performance spectacular with special guest star and celebrity hooker Putanesca. Also, audience members should dress to impress for the Totally 80’s Slut Pageant. Purple Rain stars Prince in his motion picture screen debut as a Minneapolis rock musician struggling to gain recognition, while also battling rapper/dapper Morris Day for love-interest Apollonia.

SING-ALONG TRUTH OR DARE Saturday, November 12th Bridge Theatre, 3010 Geary (3 blocks west of Masonic) Show at Midnight $10 online tickets / info: www.peacheschrist.com The Truth or Dare pre-show features Peaches’ newest short film Spin the Bottle. Witness the Midnight Mass drag-umentary about the behind-the-scenes life of a deranged diva. Also, do not miss special guest star Kimo, who will present the epic drag masterpiece “20 Years of Madonna in 20 Minutes.” Truth or Dare offers an intimate, revealing, and hilarious portrait of Madonna’s celebrity life. Sing-Along to all of her full color stage-show hits and guffaw at behind-the-scenes b&w drama!

I may have to hit up Purple Rain Friday the 4th because I am going to see The Reigning Sound and Detroit Cobras at BOTH Saturday. Keane, I know its no Showgirls but we can still hit up Versayce later and then go swimming ;) Next Halloween I want to be Morris Day and The Time, if not Bjork.

Oh yes at the triumphant return of Blammos Thursday 11/3 at 1751 Social Club. More dets to come.
