This is where it's at at 6 in the morning

Idolator has two of my favorite current dance songs to donwnload today. Young Love's Discotech (members of Get Up Kids, emo turned electro) damn if that isn't a catchy ass song, it always gets in my head. Download it here. Plus Emo Sommelier is the best name evs.

Also the new Gwen Stefani Pharrell produced track "Yummy" off her upcoming albumn The Sweet Escape. I know I know there are a lot of Gwen haters out there, but she is totally my favorite guilty pop pleasure. I like the hook of this, but Gwen trying to rap about having a baby is kinda lame. Check it out for yourself here, and don't bring no pajamas.

Have friends in town and looking for a fun show or dance party on NYE if anyone has any hints. Can't wait til next weekend going to NSSN After party with Lily Allen, Starsailor, and Shiny Toy Guns performing (secretly hoping that either Jack White or Brandon Flowers will be djing).

My new favourite band

How can one band combine so many of my favorite things? 60s girl group, matching polka dot dresses, dance moves, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls inspired video featuring hottie Gael Garcia Bernal.

Check out The Pipettes myspace where you can stream 4 songs including their hit "Pull Shapes". Fun fact Karl Lagerfield of Chanel recently featured "My Kisses are Wasted on You" on his latest cd comp.

Here is their awesome video for Pull Shapes that is modeled after one of my fav films Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, I think these girls are the hottest thing since The Carrie Nations.

High on a hill lived a lonely goat herd.....

Finally, a dance remix of a Sound of Music, thanks Gwen. Musical theater nerds rejoice:

I love that Gwen is now tots stealing the Gucci logo and appropriating it for L.A.M.B., say what you will about Gwen, but I think she at least has her own original ideas and style as opposed to Fergie, who let's the dudes from Black Eyed Peas write all her shit and then just shakes her butt in short shorts.

And have you seen this awesome rendition of U2's One at a B of A corporate event yet? Yeah where is Micheal Scott when you need him, he would have been in tears.

My Baby Loves a Secret Agent

Joe and I had an awesome time at The Cramps for H-ween and The Groovie Ghoulies were amazing as well. I was a spy, but people kept asking me if I was Carmen San Diego, so by the end of the night I was going with that. But correct me if I am wrong but I think she had red hair, hmm maybe an idea for next year....Rocapella take 'em out!

Austin was awesome saw Amy Sedaris, David Ratkoff, and McSweeney's peeps at the Austin Book Fair. Saw Beirut and King Kong and BBQ at Emo's. Heard the loveley sounds of the end of The Decremists set at Stubb's, it was great. Totally want to go back Austin was super fun.
