Top Ten Worst Song Lyrics

As posted on Stereogum this morning, Blogcritics list the Top Ten Worst Song Lyrics Ever. Now as Stereogum argued a glaring omission was definitly the new "urban operetta" Trapped In the Closet Part 1-5 by R. Kelly. However, I would argue R. Kelly's gentlemanly ode to woman parts, "I Like the Crotch On You", would be a better choice. Anyways there are some other notable bad lyrics the one that really comes to mind is Jefferson Starship's "We Built This City on Rock and Roll" as well as Sisco's Thong Song "she got dumps like a truck (truck truck)". Chad pointed out that Live's "Lightening Crashes" also has the awful line "Her placenta falls to the ground". Also sorry Blogcritics I like Coldplay's "Fix You" yes the lyrics are simple but I like guess I'm just a romantic sap.

Ok so on to good music. Tonight at Popscene go check out Manchester own Nine Black Alps doors at 10, they have a great sound to them. Also Saturday night I will be dancing my ass off at the Cat Club for Mods vs. Rockers :

Cool Podcasts to Check out

Lately, I have been getting into podcasts, which are now featured on the new version of iTunes. Some of may favorites that I would recommend are: Air America's The Majority Report with Sam Seder and Janeane Garofalo, Spin.com's SPINsider, and Slate Magazine Podcast. All podcasts on iTunes are free and you subscribe, meaning every time you open itunes or plug in your ipod the latest version of that podcast is downloaded. Its like radio for people who don't listen to radio. Its great for me now that I don't have a car I can just listen to the shows I like on the bus.

Also a little late writing about this but the Beck show was great. Le Tigre put on an awesome set and we danced our asses off to TKO and Deceptacon. Beck played for almost 2 hours and had a great band with like four drum sets. It was great he played pretty much the entire new album "Guero" along with many of his classic tracks from "Midnight Vultures" and "Odelay". He also did an acoustic set with songs from Sea Change and the song he did for the soundtrack of "Eternal Sunshine...". Also he mentioned that last Sunday, the night before the show, he played at a taco shop in the Mission. After a little research when I got home I found out it was in the back of Pancho Villa's and he only played like two songs. Sfist had this pic up last week.

We Lost a lot of Good Men Out There

Congrats to Andrea Williams and Chris Caldwell we had a great time at your wedding in San Diego, it was lovely to see a bunch of my friends from high school

I'm so exci-i-i-ted to see Le Tigre and Beck tonight, I am going to try to bring in my camera to take lots of hot pictures. So today at the gym I was listening to Maximo Park and couldn't help but thinking the singer kinda sounds like Hedwig at times. Regardless it is a wonderful cd and their viddy for Graffiti is awesome. Also as I will be in the presence of Beck tonight, I will also include a link to his recent video for "Girl" which I absolutely love.

I've Been Duped by my new Fav MTV Show

Just when I thought MTV was getting over their cribs and pimp my ride phase and getting back to weird shit early 90s stizz, I have found out I have been lied to, well I guess not overtly. Anyways, I read today that Andy Milonakis of the Andy Milonakis show is 27!!!!!! Yes, it is true read about it here. It totally implies that he is like 14 on the show, although they never really say it. I thought he was a hilarous 12-14 kid making funny videos in his parents apartment. Now I just think he is a sad possibly retarded 27 year old comedian with some growth disease, Gary Coleman style. What a faker, I will laugh at you Pancake Face no more. Actually I prob will still come home late night and laugh at that shit.

Cruisazy is the new Bananas

So it is a great word, my goal is to spread it as much as possible til it becomes new slang. Speaking of the old bananas, Gwen has lauched the website for her new clothing line Harajuku Lovers, will have a better price point than L.A.M.B. and I think is way cuter. Her stationary and patches will appear in Sanrio stores nationwide, clothing and accessories will be hitting boutiques soon. Click here to check out what they have up now, I want a hoodie.

Live 8

So I am working today and lucky for me Aol is streaming all the cities for Live 8 click here, this is much better than the crap they are showing on MTV or so I heard. Here are my highlights thus far:
*Bob Geldoff singing "I Don't Like Mondays"
*Michael Stipes crazy blue face paint
*The Killers "Change Your Mind"
*Scissors Sisters whole set
*American Idol's Randy Jackson making a cameo and playing keyboards for Mariah Carey
*Mariah in an entire lace up mini dress with garters surrounded by African Orphans Choir
*Madonna trying so hard to be relevant and hip with breakdancers, that was so '85 Madge
*Scott Weiland wearing some sort of S.S. skull army hat, very Texas Terri
*I also liked Muse in Paris and sadly I missed Coldplay but I am sure they were good
*Chris Tucker is talking right now in Philly, "Time I spent in Africa changed my life forever" blah blah blah, it would have been better if they got Dave Chapelle to do this intro
*Oooh wait David Beckam is introing Robbie Williams that is something I would love to be in the middle of, goddamn Robbie Williams is so hot, I think he is wearing an ascot. His cover of Queen is way better than Green Day's earlier.
*Ok so Robbie Williams just threw in a little Killers in his set "I Got Soul But I'm Not a Soldier", I love this man
